I figured that I'd just post some minor updates now and again so that if there are others that find this board, they'd might be encouraged if there was someone active present. It's lonely right now.

I'm officially 14 weeks and 0 days today. According to some of the "charts" the baby is the size of a lemon. When we first discovered we were pregnant, and found the comparison chart, the little one was only the size of a blueberry. As uncomfortable a mouthful as 'blueberry' is for a nickname, this is what has stuck with my husband. You have to admit, though, blueberry is a lot sweeter than a lemon!

Yesterday was a rough day, and in the middle of it, I had a check up with the OB accompanied by my eldest daughter (21y) whom he also delivered. The OB has said that he's actually been around long enough now to deliver children of the children he's delivered. My daughter was able to come in to hear the heart beat. She was less impressed then she thought she'd be, thinking it was just my own heart beat she heard at first. It wasn't as fast as the heart beat we heard several weeks ago during an ultrasound - but I figure it's bigger, and the doctor didn't flinch, so I'm fine.

Peace

Thank you, Kristin Very Happy

In a couple of weeks I'm due for an ultrasound - and also in the month of July I'm to have blood work done (forgotten what the OB said it was called) to test for things like Down Syndrome - which I am guessing is routine. He asked If I could feel the baby yet, and was very surprised one could this early. I've been spending my nights with my hands on my lower abdomen waiting for any kind of flutter.

No matter how many children one has had before, it's always SUCH a MIRACLE to experience the development of a tiny tiny baby in the womb! Thanks for updating, Jamie!

Blessings,
Tamara (mom of seven; grandma to two so far!)

Dear Jamie

Lovely to read your update - I rather like the name 'Blueberry' Smile . We called our little one 'Dinksbumps' until he was born (German for Thingamajig but somehow suited the 'dinky bump')!

Thinking and praying for you and your family at this wonderful time.

Lynne

Thanks, Lynne. I didn't see the email prompt showing that there was a reply - sorry this is so late.
