Welcome Pam! I'm praying the Lord blesses you and your husband with the desires of your hearts. Smile MANY of us here have been older than you when we had our babies in our forties!

Blessings,

Hello to all of you!

I am very excited to be officially joining you with Baby #5 on the way...I am six weeks along so far and starting to feel sick, sick, sick...which is great, of course. Baby #4, whose arrival also would have made me eligible to join all of you, is crawling around as I type this. It is a complete blessing to be an older mom. I am so aware of how time is fleeting and I thank God for the privilege of being pregnant with this new little one.

My wisdom that I gained with the last pregnancy was to avoid sharing the news of my pregnancy (which, of course, was a delight to me but a shock to friends and family) until I was feeling well enough physically to deal with the lack of delight that some of our friends and family expressed. Of course I am so excited that it's hard to keep quiet...

My intro:

I turned 44 in December and am expecting our ninth baby in August.

We are a Christian homeschooling family new to Texas one year ago (previously from Cal.)

We have eight children: Seven boys and one girl. I have had a few miscarriages: one singleton, one twin, one very early loss, and I probably lost a twin w/ this pregnancy. God is good all the time.

The ages of my children are (when three of them have their birthdays this coming week or so):

18
16 (the girl, who loves being the only girl and loves boys)
14
12
10
8
7
16 mos.

Two m/c were between the seventh and eighth babies.

We homebirth. I hope to be a midwife someday when I have time. Razz

What else? I hope to be an asset to this forum and to glean insight about "old lady" pregnancy (just joshin'; I love being in my 40s).

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Blessings,
Marci
Mommy to the Magnificent Seven +1 (seven boys and one girlie) and due mid-August w/ #9
Hi, my name is Sasha and I'm 44 years old (45 this coming June!). I've been married for the past almost 9 years to a wonderful man and we have no children. Five years ago I got pregnant and suffered a miscarriage. I was examined and had an ultrasound and was given an "all clear" by my gynecologist but I never (so far as I know) conceived again after that point. Because of my age and because I was spending a huge amount of time and energy taking care of my mother at that time I just figured my time had passed and I should simply prepare and enjoy my life as it was. I haven't been actively pursuing getting pregnant but I also haven't used any type of birth control since the miscarriage. In other words, I had just given up.
Recently someone recommended Vitex to me for my PMS. I have fairly regular periods but I have other PMS symptoms and I was told it might help. When I went online to find out more information about how to take the Chasteberry/Vitex, I stumbled on Shelaughed.com. I was shocked to see so many encouraging stories of older women having babies. I would love to get pregnant and I would also love to know more about how the Chasteberry can help with that. I'd love to believe that finding this message board was a "sign". I hope I'm not crazy for thinking I can still have hope.
A warm welcome to SheLaughed, Sasha! I'm afraid I'm not very familiar with Chasteberry/Vitex, but I hope that you will be able to conceive. None of us here would ever think you were crazy to still have hope for pregnancy in your forties! Smile
You might want to post a separate message by creating a "New Topic" concerning any questions or comments you might have about Chasteberry/Vitex, so no one will miss your mention of it here in this long thread!
Blessings,
Tamara (mom of seven; grandma to two so far!)
Please don't kick me out of here. I'm only 38.
But I feel much older. I have a 19 year old and a 15-month old and am due in May. It was a surprise.
If it's any comfort, I felt a lot younger in my forties than in my thirties! Wink The best is yet to come! Laughing
Isn't that the truth? When people scratch their heads and say beyond 40 is too old, they can't figure why the baby we are carrying is our own. Kind of fun being blessed again.
Hi I am Miki, mother of five wonderful kids (ages 19,16,15,12,9). I just turned 43 last week and I am 10 weeks pregnant.which was a huge suprise and shock. I am having a difficult time this time, physically I have been bleeding throughout the pregnancy as of last week everything was still ok,but I can not help worrying that something is wrong with the baby.
But i have faith that what ever was meant to be will be.
Hello all! Nice to meet you.
I am a 42 year old woman with a 22 year old son and a 20 year old son (from my first marriage) and a 3 month old baby boy(from my second marriage)! My little one was quite the surprise. Such a blessing.
I love my second husband very much. He is the man I should have been with all my life. I'd like to have more children with him but until I found this website I had no one to support my dreams. Now I feel I can have another child with support, courage and God's grace. Smile
Hello! I am excited to be a part of this forum! I am proud to be an AMA MAMA. I am 42, and my APA PAPA husband is 45. We are expecting our second baby in October, which puts me at 14 weeks. Our DS is 16 months, 110% boy and an absolute delight! My husband and I have been together over 20 years and really appreciate all the advances in baby food and technology that have taken place in the last two decades... We'd be lost without Google at 3am Smile We had fertility issues with both pregnancies that were overcome despite our fertility doctor's "help" Rolling Eyes
My hilight of the day, so far, has been seeing my DS fall in love with our neighbor's blue driveway reflector.
He hugged it Smile
What made me join this forum? A co-worker saying my pregnancy was "biblical"! Amen.
