I've always faced bitterness and anger from my MIL over having children. I'm not sure why but she has brought me to tears soooo many times over pregnancies.....
Anyway, an amazing thing happened today. We just told the in-laws a few days ago about this pregnancy and I have been soooo braced for the slams.
They haven't come.
Today, she asked me what I needed for the new baby. She asked without anger or sarcasm or hatefulness but with geniune helpfulness. I was so taken aback that I couldn't speak and tears sprang up. Husband jumped in, blamed hormones on my emotions, and said we could always use diapers. Then, to add to my amazement, they told us about other friends' disbelief over our ever-expanding family AND THE IN-LAWS DEFENDED US!!!! Sorry to yell, but this is such an incredible turn around from even this past Feb. when we lost a baby, that I am bewildered!
All I can say is God does hear and answer prayer
and He can and will change hearts!
Married 22 wonderful years
Mom to eight with us
five with HIM
and a new babe due in August!!

Dear Lynn,
I am so excited for this turnaround! I know how difficult it can be when there is anger toward us and our choice on child bearing - especially when we are so excited and thrilled at God's blessing.
Maybe God used someone else's criticism to spur their emotions to defend 'their own'. Regardless of how He did it, I am so delighted for His gift of love to you all in this!!
In His Joy and Grace,

I have to say the we experienced this too. Last year when I found out I was pregnant w/#8, the first thing dh said is, we're not telling my parents. His parents put terrible pressure on us regarding our family size, you know, always making little comments. (They are saved.)
Well he decided to sign his mothers birthday card with all of our names and a ? and see what happened. Two days later she called and asked if it was true, he said yes and then apologized for not sending her flowers(something he does every year). She replied with; "You're giving us something that is so much better, a new grandchild!" Needless to say he almost had a heart attack!!
Just to follow this up, I had a miscarrage about 3 weeks later and they were crushed!

Lynn it is always Amazing when God answers our prayers. Yet when we are praying it is supose to be with expectation. But it always delights me so when I see God in action. I'm so happy for you.
