Hi Everyone,
With a new board, it's nice to have everyone take time to introduce themselves again. Whether you are an old (ahem...mature!) regular participant, or new to SheLaughed.com, we welcome you and encourage you to tell us a little about yourself! (I shared our testimony on the "Testimonies" section, linked at the top of the board, also in the "About Us" section on the front main page of SheLaughed.com, so I won't repeat it all here. )
We look forward to sharing more with each one of you!
[Updated on: Sat, 30 April 2005 03:54] Blessings,
Tamara (mom of seven; grandma to one so far!)

Hey! I'm Caro, wife to Ken for 10 years this August. We have 2 beautiful, blonde haired, blue eyed daughters, Alix will be 5 in July and Moira is 2 1/2. Also have one in heaven as of this past December. Had my first at 37 and 2nd at 39, was pregnant the third time at 41, and leaving it up to God as to whether or not I'm finished or not. Would like to do foster parenting one day. Have a heart for the little ones who are taken away from parents, whether rightly or wrongly, it's still hard on them, and I want to be there for them when they need someone to love and comfort them.
Most important, I am a follower of Jesus Christ, love Him with all my heart, I'm His servant, and look forward to eternity with Him!
Caro

so here goes!
I'm a 45 yo SAHM of 6 dc who has been married to my wonderful dh for 21 years. Our children are: 20 yo ds, 18 yo ds, 5 yo dd, 3 yo ds, 3 yo dd, and 4 1/2 mo dd. I gave birth to my oldest dd shortly after turning 40. The twins came when I was 42. Then this latest baby came at my current age of 45. The thirteen year gap between dc is due mostly to some health issues our second ds had.
I am continually amazed that God would choose to bless us with four more dc in our 40's. I guess the Lord does work in mysterious ways!
Married to my dh for 25 years
Mom to 23 yo ds (married), 22 yo ds, 9 yo dd, 6 yo ds, 6 yo dd, and 4 yo dd

New Here and wondering if I'll ever "Laugh" for that reason... [message #51 is a reply to message #15 ] |

Hi!
Just posting my intro, I just joined the group, have peeked at a few posts in the past.
I just had my 41st b-day and we have stopped "Trying" to conceive, so we will see if God will send more in the coming years or not. I know I've done what I could to be a good steward of my fertility in the last years so I have no regrets there.
I'm Becky, married to Jim for 22 yrs, have 4 children on earth and 3 (at least) in heaven that were lost to early mc.
Will be checking in here and probably just lurking unless I am blessed by the Lord with another pregnancy.
I just wanted to tell you all Thank you for being such a good witness of God's faithfulness in this area.
Other ladies who are praying for God to send more are really appreciative of your testimonies. Perhaps God will make US laugh again someday, too.
TTYL
Becky

Hi
I'm dana, just told you about our homebirth this april. Married 1 1/2ys to wonderful Christian man, after the death of my husband 7 yrs ago. Also have two children in heaven. Between my current husband and I we have a 21ds, 19ds, 18ds, 15dd, 8ds, and 8 week old ds. Would like more. I have been a foster parent, both medical and regular. Started to adopt in Ukrain when we became preg. and couldn't get over there before I was to far along and had to stop the adoption. Would not recommend Ukrain to adopt at. Did meet a wonderful group helping the orphans, His Kids Too. I wasn't saved until I was 30, so I have much to be thankful for, and have been there done that and am glad to be here. On my refregerator I keep this
"I am not what I ought to be, I am not what I wish to be, and I am not what I hope to be; but, by the grace of God, I am not what I once was."
Glad to meet you all.
dana
ds 21yrs, ds 19yrs, ds 18yrs, dd 15yrs, ds 8yrs, ds 4 months
Thank you Lord for our Blessings!

Hello everyone!
I posted a handful of times or more to the old message board. I know I am one of two named Anna. Last time I was at the old message board the other Anna was pregnant...I hope she is doing well.
I am 40 yrs old. I will be 41 in September. I have one adult son who is 18 1/2 yrs old. Even though he was lost to open adoption, I remained a part of his life growing up and still have contact now, but not very often. He is now very busy with his own life, going to college, working and his friends and he lives in San Diego (my hometown) 350 miles away.
At the time I had my son, my abusive ex b/f (and father of my son) forced me to have a tubal ligation at the age of 22. It took me 17 1/2 years to have the money to be able to have the tubal reveral surgery. So, last August 10, 2004 at the age of 39 yrs and 10 1/2 months. I had the reversal done. We are now in our 13th cycle of TTC since the tubal reveral. I had labs done in March and I had a CD3 FSH of 4.9 (which is excellent) so at least we know that I have a good egg reserve, but quanity does not equal quality, so I hope I have some good ones left. I had an HSG done in May to make sure my tubes had remained open. My longer 8cm left tube is wide open and healthy. My very short 4cm right tube is only barely open and is enlarged at the end. This is my first cycle of Clomid and it did work and I know for sure that I ovulated on the 4th of July. I am now in the 2ww and have been prayful that this will be our month.
I just found out 2 weeks ago that my 41 yr old (will be 42 in Nov) first cousin is now pregnant and due in Jan/Feb 2006. I have a strong genetic factor in my favor. Most of the women in my family have had babies into their 40's, but it has yet to help me!
I have been married for 8 1/2 yrs. My DH Sean is 34 (35 in Oct). I have a 15 1/2 yr old stepson, Ryan, who I am close to. He comes for the summer and the holidays and actually will be here in a few weeks for his annual summer visit. Sadly, I think this will be his last long summer visit with us. Since next summer he will be 16 and will have a job and car and I just don't see him coming up to visit. So, I'm very happy that he is coming this summer.
My DH and I are open to God blessing us with as many children as I can have in my 40's. Although, I would count myself blessed to be able to have at least one, we really would like to have more than one, but I've yet to be able to become pregnant. I have had no m/c's, no ectopics, no chemical pregnancies, nothing, just nothing at all.
This whole TTC for the past 11 months has put a stress on my marriage. I am a believer, my DH is not. After 13 cycles of trying my DH is really tired of waiting (as am I) and has basically given up hope that it will ever happen, but I turn to prayer...that is not to say that I have not been angry at times with God in the last year. But this month I am hopeful that God will breathe life into my barren womb.
Blessings,
Anna K.

Hi All,
I am SO HAPPY to have found you all. You are just what I needed. Someone gave me your website and I have not been able to stop smiling all morning as I navigate through the site. I am to be 45 in 3 more weeks and have a grandson on the way from my 25 year old son (from a prev. marriage). I have been married to my current husband for almost 13 years and we have 5 children ages 11 down to almost 3. My youngest was born when I was 42.And my next to youngest when I was 40. We are and have been praying and desiring twin girls for 11 years ever since my doctor thought I was carrying twins with my 11 yr old.
Ever since then we have asked the Lord to give us twins with each pregnancy. Crazy??!! That's what most of my friends think, so I don't share that with too many people. But I know I can share that here. We are hoping that now will be the time that God will give us our twins, since I am now almost 45 (and am waiting to be pregnant again) and we don't feel the least bit done yet. Thanks for this site!

Thanks so much for praying with me for our twins. I can't tell you how good it feels to have found other people who believe like my husband and I do - that children TRULY are a gift from God and a gift that we REALLY want to recieve from Him and not limit Him on. Even my friends who really do enjoy their children... still can't imagine anything over 6. I mean they think that if you have 6 you are a superwoman or something like that. And now here I am meeting women who have 10, 12, and even 14 in cyberspace. Makes me feel like we are a small family. I was telling my husband last night that it would be great if God would not only give us the twins... but even more after that - through adoption or biologically, whatever way He saw fit.

Hi Jupitas, and welcome! So glad you found us and are joining in! I'll be praying for the Lord to bless you with the desires of your heart!
Twins are fun! We've enjoyed ours immensely!
There's another lady, Tam in AZ, who's had two sets of twins in her 40's and has quite a story to tell. She sometimes drops in over here, but I haven't seen her post in quite awhile. She's due with another baby next month.
Hope to see you here often!

Thanks for the welcome Diane NM. So did you pray for twins? Or were you surprised? Did you breastfeed them both?
Yes, I met Tam In AZ on the Sonlights forum. I was so shocked that she had 2 sets of twins so close together. That had to be something alright!! And quite the blessing!! She is taking a cyberspace break right now, b/c she is going to give birth next month, I think.

No, I didn't pray for them! It's funny though. When I was expecting my now 5 yo dd, I do remember thinking that it would be kind of nice to have twins and get two babies with one pregnancy! At that time, it would have brought the number of our dc up to four, which is what I'd always wanted. And, now we have have six dc! His ways are surely better than ours!
No, I wasn't able to breastfeed the twins and I really felt awful about it for awhile. They told me that because they came at 36 weeks, the babies weren't able to suck as well as if they'd come later on. Much farther down the road, I realized that I wasn't making enough milk after I delivered either. I believe this was due to the great amount of fluid I retained towards the end of the pregnancy, and also the extra blood loss from delivering twins. I suppose in the end though, it was easier to formula feed them so I could have help. But, I did miss that specialness that comes from nursing babies.
You already know Tammi? Wonderful! I met her on CHFWeb and have nothing but admiration for her. She's been having problems with AOL and that might also be why you haven't heard from her as much. The first time she had twins, I believe she was posting right up to the time she was getting ready to leave for the hospital! I don't remember if she did this last time, but we did get an announcement real soon after the babies were born.

Well honestly, I can't say that I KNOW Tammi. I just met her on the Sonlights Homeschool curr. forum. I saw her post one day, and I started counting her dc and saw that they were up to 12 with this new one due in sept and then saw that there were 2 SETS OF TWINS one right after the other and so close in age!! Well I was so envious and I wrote to her to ask how old she was. And not long after that, I ended up finding this web site and well the rest is history.
I would think that if God gives me twins that I would want to try and breastfeed, but also give them a bottle too... to allow for help and to let the other kids enjoy feeding them too. I just think it would be so much fun! I'm sure you were just so busy that first year thought, right?
And by the way, what is CHFweb? And what is SAHM? I'm still learning all the abbreviations of the forum<smile>. And finally if you don't mind me asking... what were the health issues of your ds?

Yeah, I guess you could say that first year with twins is kind of busy! Those first months are something of a blur!
CHFWeb is The Christian Homeschool Forum on the Web. It's also run by William and Tamara Eaton, who have this site. I'm guessing if you met Tammi on the Sonlight forum that you homeschool, too? If so, please join us at chfweb.net. It's a great group of ladies! (And sometimes a few men join in, too! )
SAHM means Stay-At-Home-Mom.
My second ds was born with a condition which required him to have a liver transplant when he was nine months old. That was 18 years ago now! He did have some complications that we had to deal with for a number of years that he finally outgrew by the grace of God. Overall, he's done pretty well!
