A warm welcome to Shelaughed, Tammy, and congratulations on your new little one on the way!

If you'll read some of the testimonies on this site, you'll see you're not alone at all! I'm so thankful your baby is still doing well and I'll pray for a blessed pregnancy and healthy mama and healthy baby!

I noticed you said you'd gotten rid of all your baby things --I had over ten years between my last two babies and I had just finally gotten rid of my maternity clothes when a few weeks later, I discovered I was indeed pregnant again --and I was a grandma! Smile

Thanks for sharing with us --please keep us updated and feel free to start a discussion or jump into any of the ongoing ones!

Blessings,
Tamara (mom of seven; grandma to two so far!)

Hi, I am Kim! A few months ago, before my 41st birthday, dh said that we should let God be in charge of this area, and voila, here I am.

We felt we were done with our 5(13 yog, 12 yog, 10 yob, 6 yob, and 4 yob) and 2 in Heaven. But, we use NFP with avoidance as our only means of prevention, so I guess in our hearts we weren't closed to the possibility.

I am 8 weeks, with a due date of 4/7/2008. I saw the heartbeat 2 weeks ago, which was a relief, after having had 2 miscarriages previously but know that God is in control of the good, and the bad.

I feel like a first time pregnant mom for some strange reason. Maybe because this is the longest I have gone without being pregnant, or the fact that I got rid of everything except the crib.

Anyway, we feel blessed because it wasn't our deliberate choice, but we left it in God's hands, and He didn't have to allow it to happen.

Hello Ladies,
It's been many years since I've posted on a message board, but I've been reading off your website for a couple months.I figured it was only proper to introduce myself, since I felt like a peeping Tom.
I have 2 daughers in college from a previous marriage. I met my current husband at a Bible study and we are leaving the area of starting a family in the Lord's hands. My hubby would love a couple lil' ones, and I would too. I know if it's God's will it will happen. I just want to learn any "natural" ways to assist conceiving.
I had seen my ob/gyn before the wedding in Feb. and he said he didn't see any reason I wouldn't be able to have a baby or two. But it's been 7 months now, although, I've only started to learn about my fertility signs recently.
So, I hope to grow in knowledge as I glean wisdom from all of you wonderful ladies.
In Him,
Michele

A warm welcome to SheLaughed, Michele! We remind one another from time to time how obviously it's the LORD who opens and closes the womb and blesses us with each child. It took me far longer than seven months just to conceive my first one over twenty-seven years ago! (When I was much younger. Wink ) Praying the Lord blesses you and your husband with the desires of your hearts as you continue to look to Him!

Blessings,
Tamara (mom of seven; grandma to two so far!)

Hello Ladies,

I am 46, and sit here writing this intro, with a wonderfully swollen belly full of life! Knowing now, that I am not alone!

It has made my heart sing with Joy and thanksgiving to find out there are other women out there who devote their time and energy on making a home and family to the Glory of God.

I have two grown children, who both have children, and my oldest, born in 1979 with spina bifida, died at the age of 25, of cancer. My second born, now 25,and his two children , 4 and 3 are living with us, and my youngest 23 just had her first born, after losing 2, her baby is 7 weeks old and I am due anytime in the next few weeks.

In 1985, after two miscarriages within 3 months and highly stressful living conditions, we were traveling the country with my husbands work as a contracter and living in motel rooms. I had all three kids still in diapers, and my oldest walking with leg braces and a walker. My youngest was 1 year old. My second was 3 and still not potty trained, and my oldest would always be in diapers. My husband was working a 12 hour overnight shift and slept all day(in a motel suite, with 3 kids) I had a complete nervous breakdown and in rebellion and defiance against God, I had my tubes tied. By one year later I already regretted it and the nightmare of symptoms began. I experienced 21 years of cysts, tubal pregnancy's, heavy bleeding, horrendous clots, and unimaginable pain, in my body ,heart and soul.
In Jan of 1989 I rededicated my life and heart back to the Lord and sought forgiveness and healing. In 2007, 21 years and the same month, after I had my tubes tied, I am due to have the babies God showed me I would have, in a dream. In the dream I said it would be a boy and a girl, but the girl first , then the boy. Exactly one year later, my 7 year old son (now 25)had a dream of me having two babys and he said the exact same words, from my dream when he told me about his dream. I took it as confirmation, and rejoiced in the faithfullness of God to fulfill His promise.
It has been a long road with many setbacks and dissapointments and discouragements. God has faithfully chastened and uplifted me as needed, and shown me that disappointment was from having my confidence in "man" rather than in HIM!
When my son and his two toddlers moved in with us , sept of 06, I was so busy taking care of them, I put having a baby out of my mind. That was the last month of nightmare monthly cycles. I began having very light, completely painless cycles that were as much as 6 weeks apart, where they had been 3 weeks apart. I was sure I was going into menopause and when they stopped altogether I resigned to the idea that I was done having children.
I spent 3 months feeling sick and exhausted, and my instinct(heart) was telling me I was pregnant, but my brain kept saying no-way, its just all part of menopause. Then at four months the nausea subsided and I began feeling movement. I blew off those early flutters as "gas", but they kept getting bigger and stronger and one day I was sitting in the rocking chair my husband (of 27 years) bought me for nursing our "faith baby" many, many years ago, and my son had music playing and I noticed the movements were in sync with the music. This baby LOVES music and the sound of race cars on t.v. As the baby has gotten bigger the movements to music, always in rhythm, have become obviously dancing.
I have walked by total faith for the past 17 years, trusting all my cares upon Jesus, King of my heart. He has healed me and restored my strength after every misscariage and even a ectopic pregnancy that went into the 6th month. You have to have faith to believe my testimony because there have been no doctors involved in my life or body for all of the past 17 years.
I am eagarly looking forward to and completly prepared and waiting to have my first home birth.
I home schooled my previous 3 children and look forward with great excitement to homeschooling again, it was the best time of my life. Now I have experience and seeing my other two grown children living productive lives as both their mother and teacher, am very proud of them.

This, even as loooooooooong as it is , is my testimony in a "nutshell" I could write an entire book, and a sequel, of all that God has done in my life since my own birth.
I am honored to be a part of this group of women who Love the Lord and have been blessed to bring up children to serve and Glorify the Holy name of Jesus.
Gods Great mercy , grace and peace be upon all of you sisters in the Lord in Jesus Name!

Wow!!!! Your testismony overwhelmed my heart. For over 20+ years, I've always had dreams about my husband and me having a baby girl. Well, I just recently had my fourth straight miscarriage and thought about getting my tubes tied, only for a moment. All I know is, if my dreams are from the Lord, them it should come to past. I still feel there is hope for my husband and me. I also feel that I will become pregnant again, although I'm 48 years old. I just know it.....dee

No, I never had them untied, by a docter, at least. We considered it and discussed it for a time, but decided to leave it in Gods hands and trust His will. He wonderfully created my body, just for me, so I knew He could "fix" , the body He created. It is no big deal for him to remove a little clamp, or even restore tubes or even a womb.He made them in the first place.

If it makes any difference, I did not have my tubes cut, they were clamped but stayed intact. I have learned that it is more common than I ever realized, to get pregnant after a tubal, There is a website called babynamesworld.com and there is a forum all about pregnancy after tubal ligation, I have a post of my testimony on it, and most of the women on it that got pregnant, did not have reversal's done.

All things are possible with God. It does not matter what we are capable of, He is far greater than our ability. He does not require a doctors hand to perform His miracles, He has his own hands, and they are healing, comforting , protecting, guiding , and oh so LOVING!!!!
This is not my first pregnancy since the tubal, but it is the first I have made it this far.
For those of you who do not know it yet, the tubal ligation with the clamps and or rings has about a ten year range of effectiveness.

That's an incredible testimony to God's amazing love and ability. I never had my tubes tied...but I know so many who have and then so regretted it. I will be sure and share your story.

Thank you,Tamara, for your kind and encouraging reply.
Elnunn, your testimony is wonderful. I, too, have a husband who travels for work. We are currently in KS, but are from NJ. My children are full grown and not with us, yet I have been clinging to the Lord during this adjustment.( We just began travelling last month, so it is all new!)
Yesterday was my youngest daughter's b'day(19) and it was the first I wasn't with her. Wow, I was an emotional mess, which surprised me. Probably because I'm due for my monthly in a couple days.
Anyway, thank God for compassionate hubbies.
Love In Him,
Michele

Hang in there, and cast your cares upon the Lord for he cares for you and will never leave you nor forsake you. I understand how you feel and what you are going through. The last ttime I was on the road with my husband, was the first, lenthy time of being away from my kids and grandkids, my husband was working 12 hour shifts and only got 1 day off every other week. It was in miss. after Katrina, doing telephone restoration. It was the longest loneliest time of my life, at times. But my daughter called frequently and her and I got closer than ever before, and I got lot's of oppurtunity to minister God's love to some very traumitized people and be witness to many miracles in peoples lives of what God did for them during and after the hurricane.
Where ever you find yourself on this journey of travel, remember there are people all over who need to experience the Love God has for them and you may be just the one God can and will show it through.

Thank you. I needed that. I have truly felt God's peace strongly since last night. My hubby and I just prayed before he left for work. I prayed that the Lord would use us here to be His hands and feet. We'll see what He has in store. Our kids(and my hubby) are hoping that a baby is in the Lord's plan, as I am not working while we are here, and presumably, less stressed. Time will tell. Still no period, but I was only due yesterday.
Love In Him,
Michele

Oh, Paise the Lord, mommycarlo, your words encouraged my heart this morning. It is so wonderful to have confirmation returned that the Lord is at work through our words and our deeds.
I was feeling a little discouraged, due to circumstances in my life that I can do nothing else but trust the Lord, and I was growing weary with the "battle', you gave me a little "boost" in my spirit to keep me going and believing. Thank you and most of all THANK GOD!!!!!
Would you like to be email pals? Its the modern day version of "pen pals". I would be honored to continue correspondence with you. Do you have an email address? If so and you would like to, we can exchange them through private messages, or I think ,havent tryed it yet, we can just push the email button on the post. I wanted to be sure it would be okay with you first though. Love in Jesus, Evelyn

My name is Robin and I live in Georgia. My sister Hope told me about this sight. I have been married for 10 years to Paul. I have 3 boys Nathan age 18 I was age 26 with him and conceived the 1st month of trying. Eric age 16 almost 17 I was 28 with him and he was a surprise. I have 1 darling daughter Caitlyn who died when I was 22 weeks along due to water breaking early. I was 31 with her ( I think) This 3 were from my first marriage. The baby Malakhi age 8 I was 36 with him and he was conceived the first month of trying. Well now here I am 44 and DH and I have tried on and off for 6 years and nothing. I have missed a period and I am on day 31 and still nothing. So I guess I need encouragement. I did a home test and it came back negative. So I guess I will wait and see if I skip another month.

Hi! I'm new here. Hubby and I have been married for 22.5 years. We have 6 living children (20, 18, 16, 14, 12, and 6. Then we've had 3 losses-at 11 weeks, 19 weeks, and 15 weeks. Then 2 years of nothing. We found out in the spring that hubby had an infection that caused 0 sperm count!! he had surgey in April and we are praying for more!!! It's been a long journey since our youngest.
I have such a strong desire for another little one (or more! I've prayed for twins also!)

I'd like to know how you deal with that strong desire. We've even prayed for the Lord to take it away if it wasn't His desire, but that hasn't happened either.
love to hear encouragement!
Samantha

I will be turning 44 on tomorrow. I had a miscarry on May 13,2007 (mother's day) but my husband and I are not discouraged because we have an all powerful God as our Father and Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, who said those who put their trust in Him will never be disappointed. I asking all to agreement with my dh and I that will will conceive, have a healthy pregnancy, a healthy baby(ies) and a quick and easy labor and delivery.

Hi everyone and Happy New Year.

Wow I am so happy that I found this site for moms over 40. Well my name is Pam and I live in califoria. I have 3 children a daughter who is 25, my next daughter who is 10 and my son who is almost 5. I also had one miscarraige at 43.

I would really like to have more children, actually I really really would love twins a girl and a boy, so if anyone would like to pray for me or give me any tips on how to get pregnant fast I'd love the advice. I just turned 45 and have been trying for 10 months now, it gets a little disapointing but I realize that everything in the right time. Also I am adopted and I know how important it is to have a loving family so someday I would love to adopt and give someone out there a family but before it is too late I'd love to have my twins.

Thanks for this great site

Sincerely,
Pam

3 great children 1 great dad

Hi! My name is Theresa. I have been married to Robert for 14 years. I am mom to Isabella 8, Gisella 6 and Gabriella 4. My first child, Isabella, was born when I was 36 years old. I guess if you listen to all the statistics about declining fertility starting at age 35 then I am lucky to have been able to have my 3 girls at all. That being said I still am longing for another child even though I just turned 44. I was so sick & miserable with my last pregnancy that when I delivered 4 years ago I was sure I was finished having babies. But suddenly about 1 year ago I found myself longing for another baby. It took me about 6 months to conceive but I miscarried at about 6 weeks. My cycles were a bit weird for a while after my D & C but my husband & I have currently been trying for about 4 months with no luck. We visited a fertility specialist & she did a number of tests on us both. My husband's semen analysis was fine. My lab results were all fine except for a day 3 FSH of 16. So I guess this is really bad news & my prospects for child #4 are practically nil. I went for a HSG and before the test the doctor gave me my lab results. She said my FSH was so high that she would do the HSG and then nothing else. So I left without getting the HSG done. I figured why subject myself to unnecessary radiation if the doctor had nothing to offer even if my tubes are clear. Anyway I know in my heart my tubes are clear. I was just pregnant in 6/07. The problem is a high FSH. I have been so depressed about this. When I started my period in 12/07 I cried for an entire day. I have finally decided to just trust in the Lord. I have 3 beautiful healthy children & that is more than a lot of people have. I am taking Daily Wellness Fertility Blend & using the Clearblue Easy fertility monitor. My husband & I will keep trying & hoping. If it is the Lord's will I will have another child. Has anyone out there conceived & delivered a child with an FSH of 16?

I would like to introduce myself. I am Joanna and just turned 40 in September. I was content with the daughter, 8 and son, 4 1/2 I have. God in His mighty wisdom wants us to have another child.
I am due in August. And we were using protection.

The humor in this about two years ago I prayed and asked him to either take the desire away to have another child or to give me another child. Will He took the desire away with a month or two now two years later he answered the other part and is giving me a child.

I still am not real excited about this pregnancy but it could be because of the morning sickness. Both of my children are very excited.

My name is Leah, and I am the blessed mother of six children. I will turn 40 in March, and we are expecting a seventh blessing in September. I guess I joined here a little prematurely, but I'm so excited about this baby!

We haven't told the children yet, of course, but I know they will be excited also. They've been asking me for some time when we're going to have another baby. This one will be the tie-breaker, as we have 3 boys and 3 girls, so both sides will be rooting for one "of their own"! However, our children were also born in boy-girl-boy-girl-boy-girl order, so they pretty much assume that the next baby would be a boy. I guess we'll see!

Hi Everyone
I am very happy to find this site. I'm Ursy and I am 38 and I will turn 39 in July. My husband and I got married in April of 2007 and we have been trying to conceive. All the articles seems to hint that our reproductive glory years have come and gone. Neither one of us have any kids and honestly I need prayers. Five months after our marriage to our delight I got pregnant. Unfortunately, I miscarried within 6 weeks. I became very discourage and stumbled into this site.
Ladies , I must tell you that many of your stories are great source of inspiration and I am grateful to you for taking the time to post them.
Please keep me in your prayers
Ursy

Hi, Ursy!! Forget the articles, God has decided before the foundation of the world who conceives, and when. Wouldn't the world love for us to buy into their thinking.

Praying that God gives you the desire of your heart.

I don't know if this list is still active but I will introduce myself anyway. I am 41 yrs old and 31 weeks pregnanct with my fourth child. I haven't had a baby in 10 years so this baby is a big surprise for us. I am thrilled though, and always wanted more but wasn't ever sure if the time was right as both my parents needed much care battling cancer and have both passed now but glad to read posts of others my age. Very comforting. In a lot of ways, this has been my easiest pregnancy so far. Hope to hear from others.

Thanks. None of our friends can even have babies any longer. Tubals and vasectomies for everyone. I feel sort of like the loner but I don't really care. I do enjoy reading of others who are doing this also. My mother had me very late in life and I feel I had a wonderful upbringing. I lost them both when I was 35 but felt like I was so lucky to have them for as long as I did. We were the three Musketeers. We did a lot together.

A warm welcome, Elaine! It had been over ten years since we'd had a baby when we discovered the Lord had a special little surprise gift for us --Caitlin Rose! Smile She will be six at the end of this month and she has been a total joy! Congratulations on your sweet little blessing!

Blessings,
Tamara (mom of seven; grandma to two so far!)

Hello All,
I have introduced myself somewhere here...but not sure how to find it again ! We are expecting a baby in early September of '08 and wanted to let you all know, we covet your prayer as I am age 44, almost 45 when the baby is due. All has gone well so far, with the OB treating just as if I am a youthful mother !!

blessings,
Traci

Welcome to you, Traci! We're also expecting in September, actually on the 25th. However, all of our other six have been early, so I figure I'd better be ready anytime in September! Smile

Hi! I was excited to have found this web-site devoted to Christian women in their 40's trying to get pregnant/are pregnant because that is my situation. My husband and I were busy in our careers and so met and got married later in life. We started our family right away and had our daughter when I was 38. Now at 41 we are trying to have a 2nd child. We believe if it is God's will we can do so naturally without the help of the medical community, who would have us believe otherwise. I have been praying for a year and am trying to remain hopeful. I know with God all things are possible. Thanks for your prayers!

Welcome, Pam. I just gave birth to our 6th baby, and will be 42 next week.

This site is proof that fertility doesn't end at 40. With God, all things are possible.
