Thanks to each of you who replied to my message. I know God will have His way regardless! He is working in me right now to renew my hope & passion for what He has spoken, no matter how long it takes. All I know is I yearn for more children and I know God heart is all about children too! Grin Jupitas, I would be happy to share more details with you but will email privately as it would be much too long to post!
Thanks for all the encouragement and testimonies on this message board. They are life-giving and full of hope! I look forward to having a "laughing" testimony along with each of you! Laughing
Have a great week everyone!

Hi all! I'm a newbie here, so I thought I better introduce myself. My name is Marty and I am 42 yo. As you can see from my signature line, I am a mom to 5 dc and pg again. Smile I have also had four miscarriages, uincluding 2 since my last youngest was born, so I am nervous this time around.

To reassure myself, I went to the OB today. It is a new dr. - we need to use Medicaid for pregnancies, so I don't get to choose a dr. This one spent most of our time together explaining tome all the disadvantages of trying to have a child with 42yo eggs. He also mentioned that the chance of hainvg a baby without donor eggs by the time you reach 46 is just about nil - my sil had her most recent at 46 and he looks just like the rest of his 10 siblings.

Than he told me all about the risks of birth disorders with babies born from 42 yo eggs. Really encouraging, eh?

Anyway, I thought I would come here for encouragement and fellowship. I look forward to getting to know y'all! Razz

Hi Everyone!

I'm so happy to have found this place!

I'm Cheryl, wife to my high school sweetheart, Gil. We've been married for 20 years and have 5 great kids, ages 19, 17, 15, 13, and 2. We went quite a while without a toddler around so we've been through quite a bit of adjusting, but it's all been a great experience with our new little blessing. Although some days are very hectic, to say the least.

God has lead me to homeschool three of the kids, and I design and manage some websites for some companies here in southern CA. I'm somewhat active in Juvenile Diabetes awareness since my 13-yr-old has it and is on an insulin pump.I just got my drivers lisence (Better late than never, right?)less than three months ago and have been driving my parents and kids all over ever since.

Jesus has been my Savior and best friend since I was just a little girl and could read a tiny Bible that someone had given me. I've weaved in and out of following His path through my life, but I now try to do everything according to His Word as best as I can. I'm probably further than perfect than anyone, but stumbling and getting back up is how I learn best sometimes.

I can't wait to meet you all!

Hi everyone,
How exciting to see this site ! I am the mother of seven children . Their ages are from 18yrs. to 3 months. I was 41 when my last baby was born. I didn't realize there were so many of us around ! It's been encouraging to read all your intros and learn a bit about each of you. Like so many of you, I am still open to the possibility of more blessings in our life. It's an awesome task that the Lord has set before us isn't it ? Whether we have one or a dozen, the reality of our task to raise up a godly generation rests heavily upon us. I look forward to meeting more 40's moms.
May the Lord bless each of you this day
Traci

* Update on my intro post !
It's nearly two years later...and I am expecting again. I will be 44 when this precious bundle arrives. My husband and I are still sort of soaking this all in. We haven't shared the news with anyone yet.

I am an extremely blessed mother of five boys, ages are 23, 19, 17, 14 and 7. I am married to a wonderful man named Ken. We have owned several businesses (one is a Christian book and music store) in the last five years, and now we feel that season for us is coming to a close. I need to be back with my kids full force again (we homeschooled in the past and I am now homeschooling my youngest). My only real hearts desire all of my life was to have six children, and we are praying that the Lord would bless us with one or maybe two more. I am 45 and my husband is 56, but we are active, healthy and encouraged. We love the Lord deeply and I really do believe He will bless us again.
I have had a test of faith though in that I have never had any problem getting pregnant, and this time we have been trying for 8 months now. I really do believe God is working to help me to better understand what some woman go through in their struggles with fertility, as there is also another board that I go on in which most of the women have gone through unbelievalbe things to try to concieve. It has given me so much compassion for these women. Any how, I was thrilled to find this site and it's Christian base, thank you Tamera. I look forward in the near future to posting and pregnancy and birth story.

God bless all of you,

Heidi

Hello to everyone Smile

My Name is Vicki and I am from New York City.
I was researching pregnancies at or over 40 and came by this wonderful site by accident. I have been married for 20 1/2 years, with many turbulent pregnanies and losses along the way. I got pregnant as soon as I was married, only to lose the pregnancy with a misscariage in 1st trimester. Then 2 years later-took us long to conceive again-lost another at 5 months into the pregnancy. about 3 years down the line, I gave birth to a healthy boy, George. After 17 months, again delivered a healthy girl, Maria. We tried to conceive 2 years later, but were told due to an infection-it would be difficult to conceive again(something with cervix not closing properly after Maria). I was glad God saw fit to bless me with my 2 beautiful children, that I let it go then. Then, in August 2002, George was 13 1/2 and we were on vacation to Europe, he got sick-and in only 2 days, went into a coma from wrong medication he was given. He passed away and was buried in a family plot overseas-due to paperwork problems to bring him back to the States. I was devestated and depressed, but my husband was convinced we could pray and ask God for help in conceiving another child. I was so surprised to see myself with a missed period after 4 years of trying-and doctor says we are 7 weeks pregnant!! Now I am 42 years old-will be 43 when baby is delivered, with God's help.
Thank you for letting me share my story. May God bless everyone-because Miricales do happen.God Bless all our Angels in Heaven too-they are always watching over us!
(((HUGS)))

Dear Diane:

Thank you for your prayers!!! Smile

I will surely kep you posted, as I will be going for OBGYN appointments more frequently, due to my my age and past pregnancies with the losses. I am excited and saddened at the same time due to some family relatives who have expressed to me that I should not have gotten pregnant because it is like I would be "replacing" my George in Heaven. I know in my heart I will never be able to "replace" my Angel!! Since God saw fit for me to conceive once again, it is a miracle!! due to how hard it has been to conceive throughout my marriage, with losses along the way, I try to put them out of my mind. They all cannot see that God has answered my prayers. I feel so alive, much "younger" and more vibrant since finding out we are expecting! After 4 years of being so depressed with our loss, this has given me life again. I have also seen great changes in my daughter, who will turn 16 this summer too. She is so excited about our miracle.
My prayers go out to everyone who is trying to conceive. I want everyone to know that miracles happen, so keep trying and best of luck to all.

((((HUGS))))

Hi Vickki,

I am just so sorry for the loss of your precisou George. I started to introduce myself and have been scrolling thru all the messages in this thread. Some of them are so heartbreaking.
I just wanted to send you some warm protective hugs and let you know I will continue to pray for your newest little blessing. That is so very exciting! I'm so sorry about the callous remarks you have recieved from some family members. I'm just amazed at how boldly outspoken and insensitive people can be.
God has plans for your family though! So hold on tight to Jesus, He is the One creating this miracle and the Giver of life.
I'll introduce myself on another day. I'm spent quite a bit of time here on the computer this afternoon but have thoroughly enjoyed it.

In Jesus' love,
Allie

Enjoy this blessing! I'd stay away from family members who are being negative as much as possible. You surely don't need those kinds of comments at this precious time. Just rest in Him and enjoy every moment! Very Happy

We're so glad you've joined us and that you've shared some of your testimony. I'm so very sorry for your loss and I pray the Lord will continue to comfort your heart and strengthen you as only He can do. I'm rejoicing with you in your pregnancy and I, too, will be praying for you and your precious little one --for a healthy pregnancy, birth and healthy mama and baby.

Please don't let your relatives get to you --I just don't understand why people make such statements. When I was pregnant with my youngest (the inspiration for this website and who is four now!), I stayed away from people who were negative and discouraging as much as possible. I pray the Lord will send you encouraging people who are positive and speaking His Word into your life!

I'll be looking forward to future updates as you have time and I'm praying for you!

With love and hugs in Jesus,
Tamara

Dear Allie;

Thank you so very much for your prayers!
I too keep faith and know that God does have plans for me-because my life has dramatically changed after I found out about this Miracle baby for us. I have the will to live again and the need to keep on for this baby and for my daughter, who has been such a great help throughout these 4 years without George. My deep depression has subsided and I rejoice in God's plans for our family.

Oh, I'm so glad the Lord gave you this sweet treasure! He knew just what you needed to help soothe that heartache. I'm going to cry now. I'm so sorry you lost the will to live. But He's put a new song in your heart, a song that sings praises to our God. How comforting to know that you'll see your precious boy in heaven someday. Because we know the sting of death was swallowed up in victory. We are not a people who grieve without hope!
Thank you Tamara for creating shelaughed.com. I can't think of a better inspiration for this website then Caitlin Rose. I guess we can say the Lord gave the inspiration because He made her. What a beautiful baby and toddler she was! And no doubt beautiful four year old now.

Please keep us updated Vikki!

I keep editing to try to make this come out a pretty blue.

In Jesus' love,
Allie

Hi Everyone!

My name is CJ and I'm 44yo. My DH (dear hubby) is 48yo and we are newly married this March. Oh, it has been QUITE a journey finding him, but God has richly blessed us both.

We were both involved in previous marriage to unbelievers where we were unequally yoked, and both of our spouses had affairs and refused to end them. Thus, sadly, although neither one of us believed in divorce, we ended up to be divorced people! By a literal MIRACLE, I met DH like finding a needle in a haystack, and he has been a blessing from God ever since. More and more, I'm learning every day all the ways that a marriage is a mirror of God's love for his Bride...and how God's design of two believer's marrying is SOOOOOoooo much better--and how blessed I am to have the protection of a godly man who is my spiritual head.

Both of us have had children from our previous marriage, and we are raising them all together using godly, family principles. But it would be our prayer that God would bless us with a child in our old age--a miracle of love. We are standing on the stories of Sarah...and Hannah...and Elizabeth--that NOTHING is impossible with God. And gratefully, after having some basic medical tests and bloodwork, we are both healthy and fertile still!

~CJ

Hi,
I found this site about a week ago and what a blessing it is!

My husband and I married in November of 2003, just three days after we met. Sounds crazy, I know, but it was totally GOD! We just KNEW we were supposed to marry on the third day. I'll share that testimony another time.

Six weeks later we find out we're having a baby, imagine that! And I never thought I wanted kids. I was 41 at the time, and had planned on staying single and married to Jesus until He came back. Now all of a sudden I find myself married with a child on the way. Whew! What happened to MY plans?

It was a first baby for both of us. We had perfect peace about it and just knew God was wanting to bless us with a REALLY special blessing. Over and over I heard the Lord speaking to my spirit: "I am restoring to you the years the locusts have eaten". We both had had a lot of years eaten away before we met.

We had a perfectly health pregnancy and baby, and I was 42 years old when she was born. I'm now 44, my husband is 43, and our beautiful baby girl who is 20 months old, has captured our hearts in every way. God is SO good!

We believe we are supposed to have more babies, because we keep having pregnancies, but they have been ending very early, most of them 2-4 weeks after conception.

I'm just in the proccess of really renewing my mind with the Word of God again. I believe we will have more babies, and I believe anyone who wants more, can have them. God's Word says so, and He's no respector of persons. Jesus has redeemed us from ALL sickness, that includes fertility problems and everything related to pregnancy and childbirth. I like the verse in Jeremiah that says "Behold, I am the Lord your God, is there anything too hard for Me?" God CAN do anything!

We're so glad you've joined us and I appreciate you sharing your testimony of how the Lord has blessed you with a baby and how you're continuing to trust Him!

I'd love for you to share your story about how you married your husband after just three days --amazing! (But I do know the Lord can work in amazing ways, too! Smile )

Hi Tamara,

I'm working on the testimony. You wouldn't think it would be a LONG testimony, but in fact it is, and I'm trying to write a shortened version of it. It's just that SO much happened in that three days!

Thanks for this wonderful website, and the home schooling one too. I plan on home schooling my daughter (and all future children), and love what I've seen on that website.

Blessings to you!

A warm welcome, Holly! Well, we know it's NEVER too late if it's the will of the Lord for you to have another baby --age means nothing to Him! Smile

I'm afraid I have no practical advice except to eat well, sleep well, and stay active --and trust the Lord at all times. I'm praying the Lord will bless you with the desire of your heart!

Looking forward to your participation here as you have time!

Thankyou, Michelle!! I sure do need a lot of those hugs today!! AF is visiting, I'm trying to withdraw from caffeine, I'm healing from surgery on my legs (varicose veins) and I HAVE AN EARACHE!! Gotta have a sense of humor over it all, though!!

My oldest daughter, son in law and 3 grandchildren have been living with us for about 2 years. They will be moving into their own home in one week!! They will still be close by, but I don't know whether to get up and dance, or cry!! It has been a fun journey. We're hoping that maybe once they've moved out the Lord will see fit to bring us more babies of our own. God is good no matter what he does!!

Thanks for the warm welcome, and I do so appreciate your prayers!

~Holly

Glad to be here.

I am a mother of 6 and one on the way. The first 7 years of marriage the Lord had my womb closed. Then I had a mc. Eighteen months later I got pregnant again. I had one baby in my 20's, 4 in my 30's and Grace was born 12 days before my 42 birthday. We decided to truly let God take control after her. Before we practiced the w/d method until the babies were about a year and a half and then I would have an uncontrolable urge to have another. This time we let God my body and now I am about 6 weeks pregnant. I will be 43 next month.

I haven't even told my husband yet. I always just blurt it out but this time I am staying quiet and I am not sure why. I think he suspects and is honoring my quietness.

One more thing about me. I have not tested for pregnancy with the last three.

1 Samuel 2:5

..She who was barren has borne seven children.

Welcome to the boards, and congratulations on your newest pregnancy! Wow, what a testimony YOU have. I love the scripture at the bottom of your post:

Quote:

1 Samuel 2:5

..She who was barren has borne seven children.

That says it ALL...sounds like it was written just for you! With God, anything IS possible.

Blessings to you!

Hi Lori: I was so blessed by your post. I too had resigned myself to the notion that I would be single until Jesus returns. I was 36 when my husband and I married. Neither one of us thought we wanted children. However, just before my 40th birthday, the Lord dropped a HUGE desire in my heart for a baby. I remember lying awake one night until 3 am or so talking to God and asking Him, "What in the world are You doing to me???" "Why can't I stop thinking about babies!!!" "I am almost 40!" Truthfully, I was a bit terrified. Nevertheless, the initial fear I felt at the very thought of pregnancy and motherhood turned to longing.

It has been over a year since that night and I am now 41. We are still trying. I do not believe God would give me this desire to leave it unfulfilled. Joel 2:25 is the very Scripture that He continues to speak into my spirit!

Thank you again for sharing!

Hi jq,

Welcome to the boards!

Isn't that something how the Lord can put such a strong desire in your heart, that is contrary to what you THINK you want. And you just KNOW it is Him doing it!

God wants to bless us with things we didn't even know we wanted! I never knew I wanted children, especially at my age. But, since children are a blessing from God and our heritage, we just left it up to Him.

I really didn't expect I would have any, but I when I found out I was pregnant at age 41, I just had that quiet peace in my spirit, KNOWING that God was blessing me abundantly with something I could not comprehend. (How can you comprehend that which you have never experienced?)

I'm so excited for you, that those desires came from God, and that He SHALL give you the desires of your heart that HE put there!

You probably didn't have them before because the timing wasn't right, just like me. He had to put us with the husbands that HE had chosen for us first, and then our babies THAT HE ORDAINED FOR US TO HAVE shall be born at the appointed time, that He has chosen from before the foundations of the world.

That is so awesome He is speaking the SAME scripture to you that he spoke (and continues to speak) to me: "I am restoring to you the years the locusts have eaten..." (Joel 2:25 paraphrased)

He is a God of RESTORATION! He wants to restore back to us EVERYTHING the enemy has taken, or those promises of blessing which we have never received...including relationships, families, health, wealth, and most of all JOY!

Keep thanking Him and praising Him for the baby you are about to receive...

Blessings to you!

Lori

Preach it, Lori! Smile Just wanted to jump in and say how blessed I am to see you share the Word of God here --there is such power in His Word and such LIFE in it! Let's live in it, confess it, share it with others --meditate on it day and night and put it into practice in our lives!

Psalm 119:111 "Thy testimonies have I taken as an heritage for ever: for they are the rejoicing of my heart."

Hello again Lori! Yes, you are so right about timing. It seems that I have been a late bloomer my entire life. I did not fully surrender to the Lord until I was 28 and then (although it was difficult at times) I waited on Him and His timing concerning my husband. I am so thankful for His grace, supplied in abundance, that sustained me during that period of waiting. Had I wavered and concerned myself with the prospect of becoming an old maid as each birthday after thirty marched on, I would have missed out on the person He had prepared just for me. Truly, I have been blessed above and beyond anything I could have ever hoped for or even imagined in a husband. He gives us His absolute best when we are patient and trust His infinite wisdom in all things.

So here I am once again waiting on the Lord. I know that His grace will continue to sustain me through this period of time as well. He is faithful and He will bless us with a baby. Thanks so much for the encouraging words!

Wow jq,

May the Lord bless you RICHLY for waiting for so long, and trusting in Him to bring you the right husband!

I SO wish I could say I did the same. When I said I was 41 and planning on staying single until Jesus came back, I'd only been single for about three years. It was BECAUSE of prior relationships I'd gotten into, that I was planning on staying single for the rest of my life. I only wish I had been as you, and waited patiently on the Lord to send the right one.

I had two marriages in my younger years, lasting 4 and 5 years, and then, when I was 33 years old, my life wonderfully and radically changed when I invited Jesus into my heart, to be my Lord and Savior. It happened in my bathroom, all by myself, after living a Godless, churchless life for the past 25 years. God SO touched me and put such a hunger in my heart for more of Him...I couldn't get enough! As I began to grow spiritually, someone came into my life who became my mentor. I don't like to dwell on the past or talk about all the enemy has done to deceive and come against me, but let's just say that after that experience, my view of marriage was such that I wanted NO part of it ever again, EVER!

I said all that to say this, that you sure saved yourself a lot of pain, misery, and heartache by waiting on God. I admire your patience and willingness to wait on the Lord and trust Him to bring you the right one in His time...that's not an easy thing to do. But it sure is the BEST thing to do!

It was quite the opposite for me when God brought me my wonderful husband less than three years ago. I wasn't waiting (or wanting) for the Lord to bring me ANYONE. I didn't have a clue what God's Kingdom marriage was supposed to be about before, but I do now, and oh, how GOOD it is!

(I had almost finished my "Married After Three Days" tesimony, when my darlin' 21 month old daughter pushed the "off" button on my computer, and no, I hadn't saved it to the hard drive...but Halleluiah anyhow! I guess I'll start over...)

I would love to hear your testimony sometime, jq!

Exceedingly and abundantly above ALL we could ask or think of!

May His blessings overflow in your life!

Love,
Lori

Hi Tamara!

I just wanted to say, thanks for your encouragement!

It has blessed ME so much to share the Word here. You know how when your trying to encourage others in the Word, God uses those SAME words to encourage you and build you up. Well, that's what He's been doing to me as I write these posts.

I may SOUND like I've got it all together, (or to some, maybe like I'm losing it...hee hee!) but as I share here, I am becoming more and more rooted and grounded in Him. It's blessed me a lot!

The scripture, "It is more blessed to give than it is to receive" comes to mind. The more you give others, the more you receive from Him!

May the Lord richly bless YOU for providing this website for all of us!

Many blessings and much love,
Lori

Hi,

I have mostly lurked on some of the "older folks TTC" sites. I'm not much of a "poster." I guess I am very shy . . . I will be 47 in two days. I have 8 children, 2 confirmed m/c and several other early losses. I assumed I was done having kids after my 8th at 43 and I was at peace with that. But God granted us a conception when I was 45. We unfortunately lost that baby at 7-8 weeks. Since then I have had a deep ache and strong desire for another child. We've been TTC again for a year and a half, using lots of constant prayer, on and off prog cream, vitamins, and any other low tech things I run across. I had figured that I would try until I was 47 and then give up. So, today I tried to start "giving up" but ended up on this website again and after reading the posts again about folks over age 45 still trying, I don't think I'm ready to give up yet. It is such a difficult and discouraging journey sometimes, though, I wish we could know when we're done--instead of continuing to have periods that can't produce anything, but only seem aimed to give false hope. This site does give hope, though, even when there seems none left. Thank you ladies for sharing and praying.
