Hi Everyone!
Elisabeth Elliot once wrote that she was the type of woman who would do housework for love, not money, and I agree. I also feel the same way about caring for children. Housework, or babysitting would never have been my occupation of choice, but doing housework and childcare for love, well that's another matter altogether. How I love to create a comfortable, inviting, pleasant "piece of heaven" for my husband and children. How I love to care for their needs. And to do it all as unto the Lord --well that's best of all!
This past week I had a productive first of the week only to crash with a virus by midweek. For two days I pretty much stayed in bed while my husband and some of the older kids still at home took care of the house and our 3 yr. old.
Now, I'm feeling much better and making plans to catch up on the house and to enjoy spending more time with my little one again.
Our work may not receive comments or much notice at times, but just take a vacation for a couple of days and what a change in the way the house looks and functions! I know my labors were really missed and my 3 yr. old was SO HAPPY to have Mommy back to take care of all of her needs full time. And you know what, I'm happy to feel like doing all this stuff again, too! It is WONDERFUL to be healthy and I don't take it for granted --ever!
Praying the Lord blesses each one of us and gives us all the strength, wisdom, grace, and help we need to do the work He has given us this week!
"For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister."
--Hebrews 6:10
Blessings,
Tamara (mom of seven; grandma to two so far!)

Hi Everyone!
Hebrews 13:20-21 is such an encouraging benediction --and this is my prayer for all of us this week:
"Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen."
This reminds us that:
--He is the God of peace --we can count on Him to give us His peace, no matter what our circumstances. (Philippians 4:6-7)
--His power is awesome and the same spirit that raised Christ from the dead shall quicken our mortal bodies, too! (Romans 8:11)
--He is our great Shepherd and we are His sheep! How comforting that should be to us; we're in His constant care. (John 10:11-14)
--It's all through the blood of the everlasting covenant: peace, joy, grace, hope, provision, and eternal life.
--He will make us complete in every good work to do His will if we will abide in Him. (John 15)
--He will work in us what is well pleasing in His sight. (Phil 2:13)
--And it's all through Jesus Christ to whom be glory forever and ever! Amen!
Let's remember this week that as we're working and ministering to our families, the Lord is working in us!
Blessings,
Tamara (mom of seven; grandma to two so far!)

Dear Sisters,
I've been so blessed to read of all of your testimonies on this board, including those of you who are still waiting on the Lord for the desires of your heart.
Recently I was reading Psalm 111 again and considering the following verses:
"The works of the Lord are great, studied by all who have pleasure in them.
His work is honorable and glorious, and His righteousness endures forever.
He has made His wonderful works to be remembered; the Lord is gracious and full of compassion."
--Psalm 111: 2-4
What an awesome way to be encouraged --study His works and remember all the times He's proven faithful to His children. We have all the instances recorded in scripture, as well as all the times He's come through for us in our lives. Keep a book of remembrance of what He has done for you and your family!
Perhaps you are facing difficult circumstances now and in a time of trial and testing --look to the Lord and think about all the times He's done something far greater than what you need Him to do! Nothing is too difficult for Him --nothing is too great or too small.
Get into His Word, let it minister LIFE to you and HEALTH to you --put your trust fully in Him and your joy will be made full! Then share that joyful testimony with others. Declare His works! Allow Him to be glorified in your life!
Share here how God has blessed you and make known His deeds!
Blessings,
Tamara (mom of seven; grandma to two so far!)

I don't know if this bible verse has come up anywhere on these boards, but I thought it needed to be in a topic all by itself so EVERYONE would read it. It was sent to me last week by Mom22 (Michele):
Quote: | "So you shall serve the Lord your God, and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you. NO ONE SHALL SUFFER MISCARRAIGE OR BE BARREN IN YOUR LAND; I will fulfill the number of your days."
--Exodus 23:25-26 (NKJ)
|
Halleluiah! That pretty much says it all...we just need to not allow fear or discouragement to have any place in us NO MATTER WHAT!
Also, I wanted to remind everyone of the "Encouragement" page on the top of this website, that is full of faith-filled, God-breathed messages that Tamara (and others) have written. There are some WONDERFULLY encouraging messages.
The one that spoke LOUDLY to my heart when I first discovered this website, is titled "Renewing Your Mind: How To Live Joyfully Without Fear". (www.shelaughed.com/renewing.htm) It is very well written and was exactly what I needed to be reminded of, after experiencing many m/c's. I printed the entire thing off, and read it out loud to my husband the next morning as we were driving to church, so that we could be in agreement and on one accord for our next (and now current) pregnancy. It is a powerful message that we should all read at least once a week, or until we "get it" and put it into practice!

Just wondering if anyone else has come across information regarding the connection between consumption of soy and problems conceiving. There has been an increasing amount of soy products added to food in the past years. Also, my oldest daughter is pregnant and I am concerned because I heard that soy consumption (TVP, tofu, soybean oil, etc) can cause birth defects. Please let me know if anyone else has any information, because now that I'm reading labels for it, soy in some form is in almost everything (especially soybean oil)!

Suzy wrote on Fri, 01 June 2007 17:35 | Hello, my name is Suzy. My friend introduced me to this website when I very surprisingly found out I was expecting last week .
My husband, Gary, and I have been married 20+ years. We have six daughters: Jordan-17, Tiffany-16, Nicky-15, Bailey-14, Bethany-6, and Reagan-2.
I will be 43 in July. Our three older daughters are adopted. Our next two daughters were conceived through much infertility and we lost Bethany's twin Jacob at 7 mos. in the pregnancy. Reagan was a very surprised blessing. I have had 3 C-sections and a large hernia repaired.
We live in northern OK, farm, and homeschool. God has a wonderful sense of humor and we would be thankful for all your prayers. I had an ultrasound this week and my dates are on target to deliver at Christmastime.
Has anyone been pregnant after hernia repair? (Mine was from my twin C-section.)Thank you for the encouragement on your site...

I don't have any experience in this area, but thought I'd help Suzy out by starting a new topic for her.

I had my glucose test last Tuesday (at 16 weeks). The doctor said that if I didn't hear from the office in the next 2 days, that I had passed. Well, I didn't hear a thing from them. I can't believe it! I'm still keeping a food diary in my head and exercising (walking) every day. But, it feels so good to not have to take those blood sugar tests several times a day! Yeah!
My iron level has dropped from 11.1 to 9.2 though. So, any suggestions on what I can do naturally to increase my iron level? They want to put me on and iron supplement - which will slow my system down even more than it already is - and I JUST now have gotten my system regulated and my constipation under control! So, I'd like to supplement with diet and get off of the iron pills as soon as possible!!
Thanks, ladies!

Hi everyone and Happy New Year.
Wow I am so happy that I found this site for moms over 40. Well my name is Pam and I live in califoria. I have 3 children a daughter who is 25, my next daughter who is 10 and my son who is almost 5. I also had one miscarraige at 43.
I would really like to have more children, actually I really really would love twins a girl and a boy, so if anyone would like to pray for me or give me any tips on how to get pregnant fast I'd love the advice. I just turned 45 and have been trying for 10 months now, it gets a little disapointing but I realize that everything in the right time. Also I am adopted and I know how important it is to have a loving family so someday I would love to adopt and give someone out there a family but before it is too late I'd love to have my twins.
Thanks for this great site
Sincerely,
Pam
3 great children 1 great dad

Hi everyone, every once in a while I pop back on this site and I am always so encouraged and I wonder why I take so long in between to see whats going on with everyone. We are still working at a baby! 8 months post vasectomy reversal. Each month gets easier and I see the Lord working in our lives. If nothing else, my husband and I have grown closer with this experience. I am learning to trust God and wait on his timing. I truly believe He is working. I just want to encourage others who are also waiting. I am praying for you as well.

Hello all, I have spotting (usually always brown) before my period anywhere from 1-2 days up to 4-5 days. So I consider my period starting when it really "starts", that is heavy red bleeding. So first of all in calculating when my fertile time is I dont know if I am putting the right start date. Also, my doctor thinks its a good time to try clomid, we have been ttc for 9 months, I am turning 40 this month . My period is "scheduled" to start Feb. 21 (by my calculations). So she wants me to start clomid on day 3 whether it's spotty blood or full. Well this morning I had a bit of bright red blood. Ok, is that the early spotting? If it happened to be implantation spotting would clomid be harmful? Its a holiday weekend so I cant contact my doctor but i know there is a wealth of knowledge in this group! Has anyone else dealt with this stuff? Bye the way, my husband and I have discussed and prayed about the clomid. He is in agreement that it is worth a try. I have asked the Lord if he doesnt want me to use it to make it evident. So I guess my question is should i start the clomid on Monday? Ahhhhhhh......

I also wanted to show ya'll this link to this blog. The blogger had twins back in August and found out much later (after she gave birth) that the herb she took caused her to have the twins. She was reading in a new herb book and turned to Chaste Tree Berry and found this:
"Women of reproductive age must use vitex with caution, since it has been known to stimulate the release of multiple eggs from the ovary, potentially resulting in multiple births.”
So,...wanted to throw this out there to any brave souls willing to try it. As she said, Yahweh still uses means.
scroll down to Nov. 25th, twins anyone? to read what I'm the post.

We just celebrated my baby's 11th birthday Friday. Oh how quickly the years pass...and what a joy she has been to all of us!
This website has been sadly neglected, I'm afraid, but I'll try to do a better job of popping in to respond to any new members and offer prayer support! Life has been very busy with homeschooling and enjoying our growing family and other ministry opportunities.
Our family has added another grandbaby (a beautiful grandson who is now 7 months old!), and has another grandbaby on the way. Our oldest grandchild turns 12 in June.
I'm praying the Lord uses the testimonies and encouragements here to help any visitors to this site!
Blessings,
Tamara (mom of seven; grandma to two so far!)
