“Then Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a child be born unto him that is an hundred years old? and shall Sarah, that is ninety years old, bear? ... Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, After I am waxed old shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also?” --Genesis 17:17; 18:12

About Us

I'm very happily married to William (the love of my life and husband of my youth!) and we've been blessed with seven precious children. Our oldest four are grown, our middle two are practically grown, and our youngest is an adorable "mid-life bonus blessing" and the inspiration for the SheLaughed.com website.

Caitlin Rose was born March 29, 2002  --she was born after we became grandparents so she actually has a niece older than herself. She has turned our lives upside down and we are enjoying every minute of it. <grin>

Believe it or not, I know what it is to want children desperately and not be able to conceive. God graciously answered the prayer of this barren woman and made me "the joyful mother of children".

When He opened my womb, He blessed us with four children very close together, then He allowed a gap of quite a few years before He blessed with our second "batch", the next two. Since it had been more than ten years and we were now grandparents, we didn't dream that He would be so abundantly gracious to allow us to have yet another baby --but He desires to bless us abundantly above all that we are able to ask or think and we are eternally grateful for it!

So all of our children are the result of much prayer and we pray that they will all glorify the Lord with all their lives and fulfill the unique plans and purposes He has for each of them.

I've been blessed to experience pregnancies now in four decades --in the 1970's, 1980's, 1990's, and  2001-2002. I've also had seven homebirths --at least one baby born in every house we've ever lived in so far!  I prefer to think of myself as experienced rather than old. ;-)

As for other members of our household --we also have four dogs, five cats and an ever-changing number of tropical fish .

We've been involved in ministry and homeschooling now for over twenty years and love encouraging others in the Lord. (Check out our homeschooling site for more information and help on homeschooling and other areas of interest to Christian families: Christian Homeschool Fellowship on the Web, as well as our Deeper Life Family Ministries website. )

My husband and I  both love big and little people, books, writing, computers, music, teaching, studying and discussing Biblical Theology and Christian Ethics, being lifetime learners, and spending time with our family.  I also enjoy quilting, cross-stitch, crocheting, sewing,  and baking in my "spare" time. (Since Caitlin has been born I spend most of my spare time doing things like brush my teeth though. But oh is she worth it all! I love entertaining and being entertained by her!)

Above all else, we love the Lord with all our hearts! We desire to walk in a way that glorifies Him and we want  to continually point others to Him and let them see that He is worthy to be trusted. His Word endures forever and it is still relevant for EVERY area of our lives!

In His Love,
Tamara

 Statement of Faith

We believe the Bible to be the only infallible authoritative Word of God. (II Tim. 3:16)

We believe God is one divine Spirit eternally manifested as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Jn 10:29f; Jn 10:30 ; Jn 15:26)

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His visible and physical return to earth.

We believe all have sinned and as a result are alienated from God (Rom. 3:23, 5:12), and that eternal redemption is only brought about by faith in the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ (Rom. 10: 9-10; Eph. 2:8-9).

We believe that if one rejects the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ, he subjects himself to eternal damnation and separation from God the Father and will spend eternity in a literal place called hell (Rev. 21:8).

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling, the Christian is enabled to live a godly life. (Rom. 8:13-14; I Cor. 3:16, 6:19-20; Eph. 4:30, 5:18).

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
